How do you know if you are extremely passionate about something or someone? That passion outpours into an activity! An activity so intense that the whole world will witness the passion!
In the year of 2017-18, VT Seva (Volunteering Together for Service) President, Sriman Krishna Kanth ji ran 1000 miles, chanting Sri:mathe: Ra:ma:nuja:ya Namaha for every inhale and exhale he took, raising $10 for every mile. Although initial goal that he set was for $10,000 it translated to four fold! This shows how thankful and extremely passionate he is about the vision of our acharya, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji!
Assuming 9 minutes per each mile, an average of 27 minutes of running time a day! Chanting RAMANUJA at least 36 times a minute, 972 times a day (close to 1000 times)! That’s about 3,65,000 times that he had chanted the name of Ramanuja! This is only on a lower side, just for you all to have an understanding in terms of numbers!
He did not stop there, and is going to repeat the same this year as well, 2018-19! He is extremely diligent and honest in what he takes up. He is known to be an obedient personality and aims at serving his acharya by supporting all the activities. Most people do their best, but he continues to stretch his limits every day to become better and better! A very humble personality wanting to understand the meanings of all that acharya teaches and implement them throughout his routine. He is blessed with great family, good companions Srimathi Aparna Kamatam ji (JET USA President), Sriman Kiran Vangala(VT Seva Secretary) and friends to support him in this noble endeavour. He registered with ‘I love to run’ organisation and received a medal for completed 1000 miles propagating Equality.
With the inspiration provided by Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdhi project launched by HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and encouragement of family and friends, he successfully completed majority of miles in USA and concluded the final few miles in the premises of “Equality” – Divya Saketham temple (Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdhi Site) which also houses College for Visually Challenged, School for Vedic Students, Integrative Medical Hospital to serve underprivileged, Cow shelter to protect the rare native species of India. He ran final miles starting from the statue of HH Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji (Freedom Fighter and torch bearer of Ramanuja tradition of serving all beings as service to God) along with many youngsters from the Vedic school.
In his own words
Swamiji offered His best wishes and blessings for the run and encouraged everyone to work for the glory of Ramanujacharya!
